tonight i went on a date.

Hi everyone!  Today was Monday.  And I am sick.  Yuck.  Needless to say, it definitely wasn't the greatest.  Because of this, I thought I would make a list of five things I am extremely thankful for.  You know, to add a positive spin on a not so stellar day. {Which hopefully was better for all of you!}

1.  See that beautiful girl up there?  That is my best friend.  And I am VERY thankful for her.  Tonight she took me on a date.  And since we're roommates, I get to wake up to that face every morning.  How did I get so lucky?
2.  My mom.  She is nothing short of amazing.  This morning I was having a rough start to my day since I was still sick, and she made me feel so much better.  When I grow up, I want to be my mom.
3.  My bed.  This weekend I went to Minneapolis for a training for my job, and the long drive and hotel room made me very thankful to sleep in my own bed when I returned.  Which brings me to the next thing:
4.  My job.  It is not very often that you find a college student who has a part time job that is as rewarding and as fun as mine is.  I can't even begin to explain how great my job is, and this weekend just enforced how lucky I am to be getting paid to do something I love.
5.  Ice cream.  'Nuff said.

As you may notice by the title and the picture above, I'm still trying to get a hang of this whole "picture/posing" thing.  I'm just so awkward.  But I promise, I'm working on it!

So guess what everybody?!  It's the weekend!  Thursdays are great, especially around 5pm when I'm all done with class.  Ever noticed how there's a completely different mood when everyone hits the weekend?  That, my friends, is the best.  I have a great weekend ahead with plenty of great friends and a trip to Minneapolis on Saturday night/Sunday for a training.  It will be a blast and I am really excited that the weekend has already begun!

{Side note - today was gorgeous.  You can always tell when it's a good weather day in Iowa when there are girls on campus wearing t-shirts, capris, and flip-flops when there is still snow on the ground.}

I feel it's time to explain something.  Recently, I have had only one goal in life.  One.  The goal is simple.  To become Kim Kardashian.  {I know you may be thinking, "What a weirdy."}  But hear me out.  The girl is simply fabulous.  She is beautiful and has confidence to boot.  Now, who wouldn't want to be like that?  Anyone?  Bueller.
No.
That is because everyone wants to be beautiful, confident, and fabulous of course!

Anywho, today in class someone told me "You look like a Kardashian sister!"
Hold up.  Did anyone else's heart just skip a beat?
I don't think you guys understand.  This is literally the greatest compliment I could ever receive.  As lame as it sounds, this comparison is seriously awesome.


This semester I'm really focusing on being much more put together, as well as having the drive to achieve my goals.  As vain as it may seem, being compared to a Kardashian sister means that some part of me possessed the brains, beauty, poise, and all around fabulousness that these girls have. Which is definitely necessary when trying to achieve my goals.

And the middle part doesn't hurt either.

Wanna hear something sad?  No.  Probably not.  But I will tell you anyway.  {Don't worry, it's not too heartbreaking}.  Despite having an amazing part time job, I still manage to be completely broke most of the time.  How you may ask?  Beats me.  But, despite my lack of funds I seem to always be able to find quite a few items that I'm pining after.  These are a few items that I'm loving right now.  Next paycheck?
